The Transcend Group, based in South Africa, is a leading BEE strategy, advisory and consulting group boasting one of the largest BEE networks in the country. Over the last decade we have been involved in transformation through providing economic empowerment solutions for corporate clients primarily consisting of multinationals in South Africa and its neighbouring economies.

TTM has advised clients around Board restructuring as well as placed fiduciaries for Trusts as part of BEE ownership schemes. In addition, we have placed Non Executive Directors on group boards as well as senior black talent into corporates, working with our clients to satisfy the management control pillar of the scorecard.

Zanele is an accomplished Executive Search consultant with experience in Talent Acquisition and Executive Search spanning 16 years. Zanele has worked with blue chip clients throughout Africa, co-crafting solutions related to leadership and talent to help drive client strategy.


Bruce Hunt – Executive Director

BCom (University of Cape Town), CFA, MBA (University of Manchester)


Bruce specialises in structuring multinational BEE Empowerment transactions and designing and implementing democratic Employee Owned Trusts and Broad Based Ownership Schemes. Prior to joining Transcend Capital, Bruce was a trader and structured finance professional at Investec Bank.

Our methodology can be summed up as a three-part process: Discovery, Design and Placement.


Discovery


In qualifying the need we ask a series of discovery questions to gain a deeper understanding of the moving parts.
- We seek to understand stakeholder expectations as well as to create alignment amongst them
- We seek to understand the pain and pressure points for the business and the cost associated with this pain
- We highlight the risks of not acting on the problem client faces, and most importantly define what the decision criteria will be for the need in the business.


Design


We loosely tailor this process around the standard search methodology of creating a universe, mapping it and selecting from it. In our process we include cost and risk implications to client, taking into account all resources required for successful delivery on the project. The design phase is an important foundation which allows us to align expectations of the output, as agreed with client.


Placement


As part of our commitment to sustainable transformation in South Africa, we go beyond just identifying people or potential partners. Rather, TTM chooses to work with our clients to create the best possible Value Proposition for top talent. We call it the “Bee Hive”. Using the analogy of bees and honey, we want top candidates to not only be attracted to a business but also to stay.
